Mark Guild is a partner at SKB with over 30 years of architectural experience in the Washington metropolitian area. Additionally, he has design experience within the national and international sectors. As a partner with the firm for 20 years, Mark has led production efforts on a variety of project types, including law firms, office buildings, college laboratories, multipurpose buildings, hospitals, hotels, and condominiums.

Mark’s expertise lies in his ability to translate design concepts into constructible details. He performs technical and quality control reviews for all projects in the office. His extensive knowledge of codes, both for base building and interior architectural space, yields a smooth permit application process and minimizes change orders.

Mark has become an expert at designing high-end quality child care spaces for law firm clients, large non-profit agencies, universities, local and Federal governments. His ability to blend the complex child care requirements of the building codes, licensing, national accreditation, and safety guidelines with the expectations of the clients’ young parents have led him to set a higher standard for this area of design.

Mark has been praised for his meticulous approach to projects and his ability to maintain strong communications with the client and project team. As one client noted, “His attention to detail in the construction drawings and construction administration ensured a smooth construction phase. Mark did an excellent job keeping me informed on issues with the contractor and engineer. Other construction managers in my department often commented that they have never received so much attention from an architect.” It is this exceptional level of professionalism that has garnered Mr. Guild numerous repeat clients.
