Philosophy

SKB was founded on the principal that it was important to have a professional environment that encouraged the entire staff to reach all of their goals and potential and to enjoy the office environment while doing so.

This is made possible by working in small teams lead by the partners of the firm, all of whom have a gentle enthusiasm for the entire realm of architectural practice. Each partner excels in specific areas and they work closely with the staff who learn through project experience. SKB encourages its staff to meet and understand the clients and to participate in the project from programming to move-in.

The design process is charette-oriented. Design assignments are divided up among the team members. As the project evolves, the team will create physical and computer models, sketches and studies. Everyone on the team is involved with every aspect – from surveying to modeling to working and construction drawings.
