The National Association of Chain Drug Stores represents traditional drug stores, supermarkets and mass merchants with pharmacies. NACDS tells the story of pharmacy as the “face of neighborhood healthcare” emphasizing its vital role in providing high-quality, accessible and cost effective patient care.

NACDS has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1933. The organization required more effective office space that would align with their forward looking mission, enhance productivity and provide an environment that would promote collaboration across departments. SKB developed a plan that took the long and narrow floor plate of the building and organized the primary support functions, staff amenity areas and conferencing along a central “boulevard.” This planning approach works to concentrate foot traffic to a central area, promoting the opportunity for collaboration, while increasing the sense of privacy along the perimeter of the space. The glass walled offices, conference rooms and low height workstations convey a sense of transparency and openness.

The architectural rhythm of the interior space coupled with the sophisticated palette of finishes creates a sense of organization and clarity. SKB designed a custom millwork screen wall made up of a pattern of overlapping capsules which anchors the reception area. This pattern is repeated on the glass of conference and lunch areas in both smaller and larger scales. The patterned film enhances privacy in those rooms while establishing a signature motif throughout the space. SKB coordinated with the building developer and contractor to integrate critical infrastructure and structural components into the base building construction resulting in significant savings for NACDS. SKB Procurements performed the furniture procurement services in keeping with our mission to provide our clients with a fully integrated service experience.
